Norma Edna Hardin Berry departed this life on June 1, 2020 at the age of 88. Norma was born in Carter County on February 15, 1932, to the late John Hardin and Eva Hardin (Vandeventer). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fornia D. Berry, in 1971; a grandson, Robert Charles Hamm, in 1975; and a son, Roy Lee Berry, in 2014.
She is survived by a daughter, Naomi Cordell of St. Cloud, Fla., and a son, Randy Berry and wife Debra of Lexington, Ky. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two loving nieces, Karen (Gary) Shaw of Dallas, N.C., and Michelle (Matthew) Browne of Gastonia, N.C.; a special caregiver, Teresa Treadway; loving cousins, Janette Mann and Dwight Rasnick; and dear friends of 42 years, Frank and Becky Murray.
Norma was the owner/operator of a childcare center for many years and loved working and caring for the children who were entrusted to her.
Interment will be at Caldwell Springs Cemetery with graveside services on Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. with a eulogy provided by Mr. Randy Berry. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations in memory of Norma be made to Valley Forge Christian Church, 114 VFCC Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
