Vernon Leonard Clawson, 72, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Demon and Rosa Eastridge Clawson.
Vernon was a retired cook at Asbury Nursing Home and a member of Grace of God Church. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sammy K., George, James, Jerry, DL and RJ Clawson, and his sisters, Shirley Julian, Virginia Baines and Stella Clawson.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Barbara Tester Clawson; his children, Vernon Clawson Jr., Gina (Randy) Fugate and Kathi (Anthony) Hill; a special niece, Cathy Cranford; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Caldwell; and one brother, Lonnie Clawson.
