Tony Dean Slagle Sr.
Tony Dean Slagle Sr., 71, Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Clayton and Dare Tester Slagle.
Tony was employed as a tire dealer for several years. His hobbies were riding Harleys, building race cars, running Slagle’s Pasture Bluegrass Festival and Tire Company and being a Carter County native and legend to all the people he helped, being a family man.
Survivors include his children, Tony “Little Tony” Slagle and wife Christon, Leslie Cumbow and husband Jason and Charles Gardner; his grandchildren, Brittany Slagle, Phebe and Kaley Ann Slagle, Adrian Largent, A.J. and Zoey Gerwer; and his siblings, Sue Ford and husband Guy and Barbara Hart.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Josh Scalf officiating. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to his best friends and loving mothers, the late Barbara Johnson, and Gail Slagle, wonderful companion Brenda Jensen and good buddy Phillip Jensen.
