According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, deputies responded to a home at 107 M. Coffee Lane early Sunday morning following a 9-1-1 call from a man stating that he had accidentally shot his girlfriend.
Deputies arrived and found a female victim dead in the kitchen area of the residence and a man in the dining room.
Adam Joseph Decker, 34, was detained and later questioned by investigators about the shooting. Decker admitted to having shot his live-in girlfriend, Kristi Calli Breland, 30, after an argument. Evidence was also found in the home suggesting that domestic violence had been taking place in the moments before the shooting.
Decker was booked into the Detention Center and now faces one count of first-degree murder. His bond was set at $80,000 and he will be arraigned in General Sessions Court today.
