Joseph Scott Hale

Joseph Scott Hale, 67, of Pensacola, Fla., passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 26, 2020, after fighting a 13-year courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
A native of Elizabethton, he was born on November 25, 1952, to Luther and Margaret Edens-Hale. He graduated from Elizabethton High School in the Class of 1970, and East Tennessee State University, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biology and Environmental Science. He was a retired Environmentalist with the Florida State Department of Health and was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Scott Hale, in 2019.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 41 years, Jill Marshall-Hale; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Kathy and Ryan Alverson and Jennifer and Justin Jordan; six grandchildren, Jillian, Tucker and Elliott Alverson, Ethan, Carson and Addalynn Jordan; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Brenda Hale, Elizabethton; and a special nephew and niece, Richard Hale II and Elizabeth Walls, Elizabethton.
The family wish to thank Covenant Care Hospice for the loving care given to Scott as he battled his illness.
