First Christian minister calls for daily prayer time
Michael Klaus, minister of First Christian Church, Elizabethton, has called for a community prayer time at 4 p.m. daily from April 1-30. The prayer time, first instituted at his church, is designed to bring the community together during a time of unified prayer. Klaus asks that the community pray for four specific things every day: (1) our country, (2) our county, (3) our city, and (4) our churches.
“Each day at 4 p.m. we will take a moment to stop and pray. We encourage the churches of Elizabethton and Carter County to band together to pray in light of the coronavirus pandemic. If churches and their members can’t pray, then, who can?” Klaus asked.
“Each day at 4 p.m. we ask that each person in the community stop for a time of prayer, to say, ‘God we still need you in our country, our county, our city, and in churches.’ We ask other churches to please join us,” the minister said.
