The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday announced the closing of all the city parks in an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. This sign greeted would-be basketball players at the court at Kiwanis Park.

FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department will be closing the following
facilities until further notice.
This would include pavilions, Covered Bridge stage, playgrounds, athletic fields
and courts (baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, etc.).
The Recreation Center, which has been closed to the public for a couple weeks, will
remain closed as well.
Staff will be monitoring the parks and facilities to ensure the
community is abiding by our guidelines.
Signs will be posted making the public aware that the facilities are closed.
There will not be any pavilion or facility reservations taken for the immediate future.
Administrative Staff will continue to work normal hours from the Recreation Center.
