Hazel Marie Grindstaff Weaver

Hazel Marie Grindstaff Weaver, 91, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Holly Wallace Grindstaff.
Mrs. Weaver was a graduate of the Tennessee School for the Blind, Donaldson, Tenn. She was employed by the Volunteer Blind Industries. She was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady L. Weaver; a son, Keith Weaver; a brother, Herman P. Grindstaff; and a sister, Hilda R. Bowers.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Steven Sparks, Jonesborough; a sister and brother-in-law, Freada (Bob) Whitson; her grandchildren, Chris Taylor, Jason (Amy) Taylor, Joshua Weaver, Eleana (Paul) Pate and Donnette (Steve) Hahn, all of Erwin; a great-grandson, Kasen Taylor; a great-great-grandson, Lyric Hahn; and other grandchildren, Aspen (Luke) Thompson, Dakota (Heather) Hahn, Lyric Hahn and Cheyenne Hahn; a special nephew, Brian (Trieva) Whitson; a special friend, Bonnie Crabtree; and several cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. The Honorary Minister will be her former pastor, Rev. Bobby Stout. Music will be provided by Janice Verran. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, will be Terry Pope, Ian Grindstaff, Andrew Gunn, Chelcie Ricker, Tim Andrews, Chris Taylor and Jason Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Regenold, David Regenold, Charlie Isakson and members of the Lions Volunteer Blind Industries. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Judy and Victor Deloach and the entire staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for the excellent care she received during her stay there. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home between the hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday or 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday.
