Matthew Christopher Hodges, 45, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born January 13, 1975 in Johnson City.
Matthew was a 1994 graduate of Happy Valley High School. Prior to his illness, he was formerly employed at Dollar General and Johnson City Medical Center. He attended Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to fish, hunt and play video games.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Sam Jack Hodges.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Dimple and Clifford Smith; his aunts, Temple Wyatt and Willie McClain; and his special friends, Mark Woodby, Toby Soliday, Tim Campbell and Ivy Woodby.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, March 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Bobby Burrow officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
