Edith Bowers Campbell

Edith Bowers Campbell, 89, a loving mother and grandmother, of 1209 Happy Valley Street, Elizabethton, Tenn., formerly of 161 South Street in the Hunter community, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020, at the residence of her daughter.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Nettie Jenkins Bowers.
Mrs. Campbell worked at the lunch counter in the S.H. Kress store and everyone in Elizabethton knew her and her friendly face. In the Hunter community she was known for her beautiful yard and garden. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Roan Campbell, and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Judy Walton, Sharon Mosier and husband Don and Kathy Perry and husband John, all of Elizabethton; a son, Tony Campbell, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Jim Walton, John Perry, Tina McNair, Michael Shouse and Chelsey Campbell; great-grandchildren, Monica Volsky and husband Austin, Hannah McNair, Savanna McNair, Zach McNair, Kyleigh Campbell, Hadley Shouse and Levi Shouse; a brother, Verl Bowers and wife Mae, Hampton; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hall, Elizabethton; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Campbell, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Edith Bowers Campbell will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Sunday for the service. Friends may come to Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services on Sunday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to sign the guestbook. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter, Sharon Mosier, 1209 Happy Valley Street, Elizabethton, at other times. The family would like to express a special thank you to Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice for their care of Mrs. Campbell.
