Elizabethton/Carter County Boys & Girls Club has coordinated with city and county schools to form a meal service plan

A new menu for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner has been developed to cope with the fact that meals will be leaving the Elizabethton/Carter County Boys & Girls Club facility. Meal service started today, March 18.
City schools will be implementing drive-through breakfast from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and drive-through lunch from 12 to 12:30 p.m. at East Side, West Side, and Harold McCormick.
For the immediate future, the Boys and Girls Club will be aiding that effort by providing a snack and dinner at those locations during the lunch pickup. City schools are on an anticipated closure next week, so the Boys and Girls Club will provide one meal and one snack at those same locations.
County schools will be providing a lunch from 12 to 1 p.m. at Happy Valley, Cloudland, Little Milligan, Hunter, and Hampton. The Boys and Girls Club will aid in that effort by providing breakfast (for the next day), a snack, and dinner.
Service time to be evaluated day by day to make sure that the Boys and Girls Club are meeting as much of the need as possible. Although the menu does not really include a “hot meal,” it does offer balance and fresh fruits and vegetables.
