Everett Ray Pritt

Everett Ray Pritt, 79, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 7, 2020, after a brief illness at the home of his daughter.
Ray was a native of Linn, W.Va., living in Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Elizabethton in 1981. He was the son of the late Russell and Jane Spore Pritt. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Betty Lou Roberts Pritt.
Ray was a retired construction worker. He loved to work in his vegetable garden and gave away the fruits of his labor to his friends, neighbors, and church family. Ray was a member of Zion Baptist Church, but attended First Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his baby girl, Becky Presnell and her husband Jody, who Ray loved as his son; his only brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Midge Pritt, Linn, W.Va.; and his two nieces, Patty (Jeff) Montgomery, Sand Ford, W.Va., and Beverly Pritt, Linn W.Va. Also surviving are numerous sisters-in-laws, brother-in-law, other nieces and nephews, and special friends, Wes and Cathy Sargent.
Ray’s wish was for everybody to know the Lord and attend church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Montgomery and the Rev. Nathan Jennings officiating. Music will be provided by Chad Bogart and Rebecca Osborne. The graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, will be Jody Presnell, Jackie Roberts, Allen Oliver, Tony Peek, Thomas Proffit, Gary “Butch” Lipford, DJ Dugger and David Babb. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice, Wes and Cathy Sargent and the Rev. Nathan Jennings. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
