A Fall Branch man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2017 shooting deaths of Robert Aaron Vaughn, Kyanna Howes Vaughn, and their unborn child.
Derick Benjamin Sells, 35, entered a plea of guilty Wednesday in Washington County Criminal Court before the Honorable Lisa Rice. The charges stem from a shooting that occurred in December 2017 at the couple’s home in Boones Creek.
The bodies were discovered Dec. 4, 2017, by a family friend, who went to the home to check on the couple after they had not been heard from.
The couple’s two minor children were found inside the residence unharmed.
Sells will have to serve 51 years at minimum before appearing before the parole board.
