Carolyn Sue Nave Martin

Carolyn Sue Nave Martin, 73, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Croy Luther and Virgie Bowers Nave.
Carolyn was a substitute teacher with the Carter County School System. She was a member of New Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. Her grandchildren were her hobby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Nave and June Nave, and two brothers, Robert Nave and Earl Nave.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Archie “Micky” Martin; one daughter, Melissa Buckles and husband Timmy; four grandchildren, Shyann Rogers, Evan Rogers, Gabriel Buckles and Titus Buckles; one brother, Willie Nave and wife Ruth; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Michael Rogers and Ashley Garland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Garland and Pastor Kenneth Jordan officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 14, in the Nave Cemetery (Bishop Hollow). Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday, will be Timmy Buckles, Michael Rogers, Keith Nave, Jerry Buckles, Leonard Buckles and Kevin Campbell. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
