Feuchtenberger collects SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU women’s indoor track and field runner Heather Feuchtenberger has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Jan. 28-Feb. 4, the league office announced Wednesday.

Feuchtenberger posted a time of 2:15.33 in the 800m at the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational on Saturday, beating her competition by just over two seconds for her second gold medal of the year. Her time posted is the third-quickest in the Southern Conference this year.

The Elizabethton, Tenn. native excels in the classroom, posting a 3.745 GPA on her way to a major in health sciences.

Feuchtenberger also collected top marks in the opening meet of the year in Johnson City, finishing her 800m in a time of 2:17.75 to best the competition by three seconds.

The junior followed her performance with a third-place performance in the event the following week at the VMI Team Challenge.
