HAPPY VALLEY – On a stormy Saturday night, the Happy Valley Warriors played host to the Hampton Bulldogs on the same night the Warriors inducted their latest round of Hall of Fame honorees.
The night saw two very different games as the Lady Warriors dominated the Lady Bulldogs while on the boy’s side Hampton had its way with Happy Valley.
The girls got the night rolling with the Lady Warriors starting with a 9-0 run including five points from Emily Lunceford and they never looked back from there.
The Lady Bulldogs did rally back some as the quarter ended 13-7 with Hannah Collins scoring four of her team-high 12.
The second quarter also kept things interesting as the two teams battled back and forth to a tight halftime score of 21-15.
Despite what seemed a tight first half, the Lady Warriors came out of the break on a mission and took total control. Happy Valley would outscore the Lady Bulldogs 12-1 in the third including four of Olivia Absher’s game-high 15 points.
The fourth quarter was much of the same with the Lady Bulldogs mustering a little more offense than in the 3rd period with Madison McClain scoring four of her six points.
Ultimately, however, Hampton just didn’t have the answers needed as the Lady Warriors took down the Dogs 56-27.

The boys game was similar in nature as the Warriors actually managed to jump out to a quick 5-0 lead but the Bulldogs would close out the quarter on a 15-4 run.
Dylan Willis score five of his nine points for the Warriors while Jordan Bentley scored seven of his 13 for the Bulldogs.
The second quarter brought much of the same as Bentley continued his first-half dominance while teammate Morgan Lyons chipped in the second half of his 10 points. Hampton waltzed into the break leading 28-15.
The third quarter flat out belonged to Caleb Oaks. The forward poured in 15 points in one of the most dominating quarters the county has seen in a while.
His offensive explosion meant an even bigger lead for Hampton who went into the final frame up 49-26.
The fourth quarter was little more than a formality with Parker Henry and Connor Burleson pitching in six and five points respectively to ice the game away for the Bulldogs.
Landon Babb added in four points for the Warriors but it was ultimately not enough with Hampton victorious, 64-35.
