C. David Carr,Tennessee State President of the Sons of the American Revolution, recently visited Sycamore Shoals State Park to present park manager Jennifer Bauer with the SAR Bronze Good Citizenship Medal.The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) recognized Ms. Bauer for her contributions to the preservation of the state’s cultural heritage and the history of the nation’s founding through her activities at Sycamore Shoals State Park.The SAR hosts the Gathering At Sycamore Shoals annually to commemorate the gathering of the Overmountain Men prior to their march across the Blue Ridge Mountains to battle the British and Loyalists at Kings Mountain in South Carolina. This marked the turning point of the Revolutionary War and helped win America’s independence and the establishment of the United States of America.
