Cyclones pound the mats… Elizabethton take three dual wins in Three Rivers match

The Elizabethton Cyclones are sensing a good upcoming season on the mats and proved that by flexing their muscles in a Three Rivers Conference match on Tuesday evening in duals wrestling with Sullivan South, Happy Valley, and Sullivan South.
Elizabethton took a 60-6 win over Happy Valley and followed up with a 53-18 decision over Sullivan East and finished off with a 57-18 win over South.
In all, eight Cyclone wrestlers finished undefeated on the night with 3-0 marks. Those included Holden Roaten (113), Isiah King (120), Hunter Morrell (126), Peyton Freeman (132), Andrew Fontanez (138), Alex Conley (170), Carson Streseman (220) and Joseph Kechter (285).
Cory Lawson (145) finished the evening with a 2-1 record while Caleb Miller (195) completed the evening at 1-1.
Luke Shepherd (152) and Samuel Fletcher (182) closed out the match with 1-2 showings on the night.
The Cyclones will be participating in a major tournament where they will get a better feel of where they stand early this weekend in the Smoky Mountain Duals where 18 teams from four states will be participating.
There will be at least five state championship clubs participating along with the current Tennessee state champions in Pigeon Forge.
