KNOXVILLE (AP) — Hospital officials say a deer crashed through a window of a Tennessee medical center, alarming patients in the waiting room.
WATE-TV reports that three patients at Tennova’s North Knoxville Medical Center had to be treated for minor injuries on Monday after the deer unexpectedly jumped through the lobby window.
The six-point buck left through the same window and was then struck and killed by a vehicle.
The Tennessee Wildfire Resources Agency says white-tailed deer are in breeding season, which can cause them to cross into urban areas. In particular, bucks that see their reflection in glass or mirrors may ram into what they perceive as a potential competitor.
Three patients were treated for minor injuries, but no one was seriously harmed.
