r. Lady Bulldogs, Jr. Bulldogs both win big against University School

HAMPTON- Thursday night featured a visit from University School in Hampton. Both the boys and girls were scheduled to showdown and both games brought big victories in the direction of the home Bulldogs of Hampton.
First up saw the Jr. Lady Buccaneers of University take on the Jr. Lady Bulldogs. The game got off to an unbelievably slow start as a lone Hampton free throw was the only point scored in the first quarter.
Business would pick up a little bit in the second frame, but not an awful lot as a few different Lady Bulldogs would sink shots to make the score heading into halftime 9-0.
Remarkably holding the Lady Bucs to zero points in the first half, the Lady Bulldogs looked to continue to build on their lead in the third quarter and that’s exactly what they’d do.
The third quarter would end with a much better offensive output from Hampton but the Lady Bucs could not get anything going. The score stood at 25-0 after three.
University would eventually notch some points on the board but it was not nearly enough as the Jr. Lady Bulldogs won 35-4.
Leading the way for the Jr. Lady ‘Dogs was Taylor Berry and Macy Henry with seven points each while Lacey Smith dropped in six points.
Hannah Smith and Faye Carrico contributed four points apiece in the win. Piper Helle, Brooklyn Adams, and Macie Lane chipped in with two points apiece while Lindsay Hardin added a free throw.

Behind eight points from Ella Eastep, the Hampton JV Lady ‘Dogs rolled to a 36-8 win over University School.
A quartet of Hampton players scored four points apiece including Piper Helle, Brea Hicks, Audrey Blevins, and Chloe Trivett.
Two points each were recorded by Faye Carrico, Abbie Lunsford, Haylie Point, Macie Lane, Taylor Geisler, and Meagan Whitehead.
BOYS
Next up, the boys game which teased perhaps a little bit of a tighter contest. That was the case early anyway as the two teams traded the first couple of baskets before Chance Point would drill back to back threes for six of his overall eight points.
The Jr. Bulldogs would finish the quarter strong taking a 16-6 advantage into the second.
Hayden Campbell would start the quarter with two baskets of his eventual team-high 14 points. The Bulldogs defense would stay tight and they would take a 33-10 lead into the half.
The third and fourth quarters saw much of the same as the Bulldogs continued to dominate and were able to hold off a late push from A.J. Murphy who had a game-high 14 points and the rest of the Jr. Bucs winning the contest 52-36.
Chance Point and Dylan Trivett also reached double-digit scoring with 12 and 11 respectively. Michael Anspaugh contributed seven points in the contest while Grayson Young totaled four points.
JJ McEleaya and Dominic Burleson closed out the scoring with two points apiece.
