Irene Ann Page, 92, of Hampton, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019. She was born July 8, 1927, in Geneva, N.Y. The daughter of Joseph and Irene (Suberato) Mitchell, Rene was raised in Homer City along with her brother and eight sisters. She was a 1945 graduate of Homer City High School.
Lovingly called “Bun” by her siblings (shortened from “Bundelina,” a name used by her parents when she was young), Rene was sweet, kind, giving and talkative.
Working all of her adult life as a waitress and hostess enabled her to share her warmth and friendliness with others. Rene was always well-dressed, neat and polished. She was small in stature but had a very big heart.
Rene is survived by sisters, Rose Pavlik, Betty Rowley, Joann Hanley and Barbara Mitchell; sister-in-law, Margaret Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.
Rene was loved and will be missed by family, all of her friends and neighbors in the Hampton area, her co-workers and customers at the Mayflower Restaurant and especially by her dear friend, Debbie.
A memorial service and potluck dinner will be held on Monday, November 4, at 6 p.m. at the Mayflower Restaurant.
