As hard as it may be to imagine, basketball season has crept upon schools throughout Carter County and tonight five local middle schools will be tipping off the season with the first annual Highlander Basketball Jamboree inside the Cloudland High School gym with first tip beginning at 5 pm.
Many schools are now fine-tuning their skills with the players that are available that aren’t partaking in football at the high school level so this jamboree will see the first hoops of the season.
There will be concessions available and all contest will be a 20-minute running clock with the clock stopping only during the last minute. If the game is tied at the end of the 20-minute session, the overtime will consist of the winner being the first team to score.
Each team will have one 30 second timeout to use during their contest.
The public is invited to come out and support the teams and see what the local teams have to offer in regards to their respective teams this season as both the boys and girls will be playing.
