Ernest Trivette Jr., of Butler, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of the late John Bell and Callie Mae Ward Trivette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Mae Fortner, Alberta Greene and Arbeulah Lambert.
Junior, as he was known by his family and friends, retired from United Cities Gas Company after 17 years where he was a manager. Junior served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army where he held the rank of Sergeant.
Junior was a man of few words who enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his wife, friends and his four-legged babies, Chloe and Lulu, at their mountain home.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Gilbert Trivette; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Todd Trivette, Bobby Trivette, Dewey and Ella Mae Dugger.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday for the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity.
