Wayne D. Vines

Wayne D. Vines, 81, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the residence of his daughter.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lee Monroe and Grace Henegar Vines.
Wayne was a construction worker with Daniels Construction Company and Mapes Piano String. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Janice Marie Culler Vines, who passed away March 9, 2013, and by four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his children, Vicky Hefner and Gary Vines, both of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Jonathan Vines, Russell Vines and wife Elizabeth, Terry Vines, Perry Vines and Joy Beeler and husband Chuck; four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Haven Beeler, Avery and Kinsley Vines; one brother, Paul Vines; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Wayne D. Vines will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King and Pastor Charlie Biggs officiating. Honorary minister will be Pastor Bobby Stout. Graveside services and interment will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 18, in the Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Henegar, Dr. Guy Robins, Floyd Henegar, Dennis Henegar and Scott McIntosh. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Avalon Hospice, Dr. Daniel Merrick, Dr. Guy Robins and staff, the staff of Signature Health Center and Lisa Cody. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. Thursday to proceed to the cemetery.
