President Trump can’t make America great without God

To the Editor:
Will President Trump make America great? One Christian pastor said before the election America is near the end — morally, economically, militarily and sadly, spiritually. He said America is no longer the world’s leading power. That day is over. The pastor said Hillary Clinton will hasten the final destruction. However, Trump could either slow that down — or possibly, with God’s help — reverse it. A pastor said, “The presidency of Barack Obama was God’s direct judgment upon America. But the presidency of Donald Trump is a judgment upon the world.” It appears God picked Trump not to make America great but to shake things up, give America more time to repent and to support Israel and fulfill Bible prophecies in Israel.
French historian Alexis de Tocqueville studied America in 1831 and wrote a book, “Democracy in America” in 1835. Alexis de Tocqueville said, “America is great because America is good. When America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” America has ceased to be good. A Gallup poll in Spring 2017 showed America is more evil than ever before. The Gallup poll found “Americans hold record liberal (left) views on most moral issues.” Positive responses are at record highs for the moral acceptability of divorce (73 percent), sex between an unmarried man and woman (69 percent), homosexual relations (63 percent), out-of-wedlock birth (62 percent), abortion (43 percent) and pornography (36 percent). Pride is evil yet the LGBTQ and many others claim pride as part of their standard and important part of who they are. Sadly President Trump became the first republican president to voice his support for LGBTQ Pride Month. Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goes before destruction and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
George Mason, the father of the Bill of Rights, speaking at the Constitutional Convention declared: “As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, so they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence (God) punishes national sins by national calamities.” Engraved on the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. are these words of President Thomas Jefferson: “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gifts of God? That they are not violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just and his justice cannot sleep forever.” The late Billy Graham said, “Some of the strongest warnings about judgment in the Bible come from the lips of Jesus.” The Bible says in Psalm 37 the righteous (Christians) warn of judgment. Billy Graham said, “if God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.” They didn’t have the Bible and the Bible says unto who much is given much is required.
God has sent judgment many times most people didn’t recognize as judgment. In December 2004 a tsunami hit Indonesia that killed 230,000 people. It hit on a Sunday morning sparing Christians going to church and not the beach. Indonesia is a Muslim country and one of the worst countries to persecute Christians and the worst country for child slavery and child pornography. The recent plague of locust insects at Mecca in Saudi Arabia is further proof that Allah the Muslim god isn’t the all powerful God of the Bible. No election or president can make America great without the help of God and God never helps an evil country like America. America will never be great unless people turn from sin and self in repentance and turn to Jesus in faith and believe in His blood, death, burial and resurrection as their only way to Heaven. God just sent a warning to California this month with a record number of earthquakes and a 7.1 earthquake the strongest in over 20 years. Hebrews 12 says everything that can be shaken will be shaken. The prospects for America are shaky and America is living on borrowed time and so are you. Don’t delay giving your life to Jesus. Only Christians have an unshakable hope. Christians are “looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ!
