The Unaka Lady Rangers were hoping to take a win against South Greene to gain momentum heading into the district tournament which starts in a couple of days.
Unaka came back from an early 3-0 deficit to take a slim one-run lead in the top of the fourth inning but couldn’t make the advantage hold up as the Lady Rebels score four runs over the next three innings to seal a 7-4 win.
The Lady Rangers took their brief lead thanks in part to RBI’s coming from Tayla Potter, Lilie Kiser, and Madison Pierce.
Pierce clubbed a home run during the spurt and led the Lady Rangers at the plate with two hits on the day.
Sadie Shoun, Erika Potter, Taylor Shanks, and Noelle Collins picked up the other hits for Unaka in its seven-hit day.
Kailey Wilson went 5 2/3 innings giving up six runs on seven hits in the game with three runs earned. She walked two Lady Rebels.
Kiser covered the final 1/3 of an inning allowing one earned run on one hit.
