First United Methodist
“When We Anoint God” is the sermon theme for morning worship Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. E St., Elizabethton. The sermon is based on the scripture John 12: 1-11.
The service begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:13 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Ministries from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Coolagers will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Wednesday night Life Lessons will be held at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad St., Elizabethton, will begin its monthly clothes closet Saturday, April 6, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

Riverside Community
A benefit singing will be held this evening at 7 ‘clock at the Riverside Community Church of Jesus, 121 Patterson Lane.
Featured will be Whispering Heart and the Patterson Singers.
Supper will also be served.

The Golden Group of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church will resume its meetings Thursday, April 11.
There will be singing, preaching, and lunch will be served.
The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and all seniors are invited.

Burbank Free Will
Burbank Free Will Baptist Church will present the Easter drama “He Is Risen” Saturday at 7 p.m. and again Sunday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The church is located on Highway 143, one mile above Roan Mountain State Park.

Nazarene Church
Revival will be held April 10-14 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Elizabethton.
The guest speaker is Pastor Sherman Reed.
Weekday services will begin at 7 p.m. and the Sunday service is at 10:45 a.m.
A community Easter egg hunt will be held April 20 at 2 p.m. In addition to the egg hunt, there will also be crafts.

Roan Street Free Will
Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will have a benefit dinner and singing Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.
The dinner will consist of soup beans or corndogs with slaw, potatoes, mac-n-cheese, cornbread, dessert, and drink. The cost is children, 5 to 11, $4; and ages 12 and up, $6. Carryouts will also be available.
The song service will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature Joel Crisp, Bobby Woods, Jr. and Wayne Lyons, Sr. Everyone is invited.
The church is located at 820 N. Roan St. in Blackbottom. The pastor is Tim Gouge.

A special song and preaching service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Bible Church, Pleasant Hill Road in Blountville.
