Chessa Jones picked up her team-leading fifth win of the season while Taylor Graalman picked up his team-leading seventh win, and the Milligan College women’s and men’s tennis teams came away with two easy victories Sunday to start a series of matches this week in Hilton Head Island. The Milligan women defeated Randolph College 8-1; the men defeated Roanoke College 9-0.

Jones improved to 5-1 in singles action this season as she won in a third set super tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 at No. 2 singles. It helped Milligan improve to 5-2 on the season, and it marked her first win this season after splitting the first two sets. Graalman improved to 7-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win, also at No. 2 singles.

Jones and Graalman were only a couple of the numerous winners for Milligan on the day. Karson Light and Marlaina Peterson won without dropping a game at No. 3 singles and No. 6 singles on the women’s side. Peterson’s win moved her to 4-0 in singles this season.
