Sherry Denise Gregg, 53, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018, as the results of an automobile accident.
Sherry was born October 5, 1965 in Elizabethton. She was a 1983 graduate of Happy Valley High School and an employee of Ballad Health.
Sherry was a member of West Side Christian Church and a former member of the Elizabethton Choral Club. Her hobby was riding her motorcycle.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Matherly Lewis.
Survivors include her son, Jacob Daniel Deal, Elizabethton; her father and step-mother, Doyle and Doris Gregg, Bristol, Tenn.; four step-brothers, Shane, Mike and Eddie Lewis and Buford Gentry Jr.; her close friend, Jim “Bob” Brown; and Danny Deal, the father of her son, Jacob.
Funeral services for Sherry Denise Gregg will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, January 4, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Greg Key, minister, officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at noon Saturday, January 5, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Saturday, will be Buford Gentry Jr., Lenny Tannor, Tommy Milhorn, Jimmy Milhorn, Brian Taylor, Tony Trivett and Danny Deal. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Kingsport Police Department and the Carter County Sheriff’s Department for the exceptional kindness shown to the family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at any family member’s home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Sherry to the Washington County, Johnson City Animal Shelter, 2101 W. Walnut Street, Johnson City, TN 37604 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
