Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Stevens III

Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Stevens III, 66, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Stevens Jr. and Nina Holloway Stevens.
Ben was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was retired due to disability as a Security Guard and was of the Baptist Faith.
Ben loved to work on cars, work in his yard and fish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Bailiff.
Survivors include his children, Arthur Stevens and fiancée Michelle Combs and James Stevens and wife Amber, all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, William Stevens, Franny Stevens and Hunter Stevens; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Knox; and one sister, Jo Hyder and husband Jack, Elizabethton.
Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Stevens III will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 3 p.m. Friday, December 14, in the J. Fred Colbaugh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at either of the son’s home. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
