Remembering Pearl Harbor

To the Editor:
This was said 77 years ago on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor: “Our ships were mighty…our men were strong and brave…but we had no warning.” President Franklin D. Roosevelt termed it as “a date that will live in infamy.” Seventeen years ago on September 11, 2001 history repeated itself and America was attacked again from the air without warning. September 11th became a second day that will live in infamy. Yet most aren’t ready for the next attacks. We don’t learn from history. According to www.worldweekend.com, “Russia has admitted in defense journals that they have plans for a Pearl Harbor 2.0 style attacks on U.S. ships on both coasts.”
The Bible in Ecclesiastes 1 does say history repeats itself. Dr. John McTernan said Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans on August 29, 2005 during the homosexual event called “Southern Decadence.” McTernan said, Hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans seven years later on August 29, 2012 during the same homosexual event. Will we see a third hurricane hit New Orleans next year?
Ezekiel 38:11 says Russia attacks the “land of unwalled villages.” Most in the past believed this is Israel but some now believe because Israel has more walls than any country that it is talking about America which is allied with Israel. In Revelation 18 that talks about the fall of Babylon the great, most think this is probably America. Revelation says, “for in one hour is she made desolate.”
Some believe Babylon the great is Saudi Arabia. The fall of Saudi Arabia would destroy the economy of America. Those working for a one world government that also control world popular opinion are attacking the leadership of Saudi Arabia because they are allied with America and Israel. The media says Trump should unfriend Saudi Arabia because they killed an enemy and Muslim brotherhood supporter Jamal Khashoggi. Saudi Arabia is a dictatorship and they kill people just like all Muslim countries are dictatorships and they kill people. President Carter stopped supporting a friend of America, the Shah of Iran, because he killed his enemies and got a worse dictator that hated America.
Everyone lowered their flags and patriotism was high after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. However while patriotism is good only by lowering ourselves (humility) and prayer to and trust in Jesus can we as individuals and as a nation be saved. Just as our country was attacked twice without warning, so can our lives be ended quickly and unexpectedly. The lessons of the attacks show the need to have good intelligence information and be prepared militarily and most importantly the need to be prepared spiritually for death. Experts say another attack isn’t a matter of if but when! “Prepare to meet your God!”
Many are attracted to the historic. We like to go to historic sites like Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 museum. God invites us to “remember the former things of old” but know that “I am God and there is none like me.” (Isaiah 46) God is in control of all history and though God will allow great evil because of our misuse of the gift of freewill, history will be redeemed. The most important history to remember is marked by the Holy Communion or Lord’s Supper. If you aren’t ready to take it then you aren’t ready to meet your God!
