Vivian Jewel Smith

Vivian Jewel Smith, 85, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. Vivian was born October 2, 1932, in Roda, Va., to the late Charles and Barbara Baker Pierce.
Vivian was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and homemaker.
Vivian loved reading books, playing Rook, working puzzles, and cheering for the Tennessee Vols. She was a member of Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Stoney Creek.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Billy N. Smith. She was the proud mother of her two loving sons, Keith Smith and wife Shirl, and Michael Smith and wife Tressie. Vivian loved bragging about her grandchildren, Lindsey Smith, Caleb Smith, Justin Bowers, Callie Montgomery, Nikki Brooks and Bradley Brooks. She was the loving sister to June Shelton, Sharon Shell and James Pierce. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bill Pierce and Wayne Pierce. Vivian always expressed her love for her many nieces, nephews, friends, and family. The family is at peace knowing that she is now walking hand in hand with the Heavenly Father.
Services were held at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton at 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, with the Rev. Richard Blevins officiating. Interment followed in the Blevins Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Steve Pierce, Brandon Shell, Chuck Pierce, Richie Pierce, Michael Ross Smith, Shelby Smith, Neal Smith, Colin Sandidge and Spencer Sandidge. The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
