Carol Lynn Howell Jaynes, 82, of Jonesborough, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, September 17, 2018.
A native of Elizabethton, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Ruby Frances Snodgrass Howell.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of Elizabethton High School and a retired secretary and office manager with Business Equipment Company of Bristol. She was a member of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Jaynes, who died April 16, 2007, and a brother, John Edward Howell.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Jaynes and wife Melony, Jennifer Jaynes, Joseph Jaynes and wife Beth, Judy Hensley and husband Shannon, Jeanna Jaynes and Janet Dovall and husband Rick; her grandchildren, Cassie, Elijah, Jordan, Stevie, Jacob, Casey, Johnna, Julian, Haley, Nathan, Madison, Mitch, Shields, Callie, Jessica, Joshua, Jacey, Rikki, Seth and Blake; 22 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Donald Howell.
A memorial service for Carol Lynn Howell Jaynes will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, at Oak Street Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Shumate officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Gary Rice. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, in the Elk Mountain Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Newland, N.C. Active pallbearers will be her children. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Oak Street Baptist Church Family. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
