William Howard Greenwell

William Howard Greenwell, 55, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Howard and Anna Catherine Mann Greenwell.
William attended Hampton High School and was a retired supervisor at McCloud Lumber, Hampton. He was a member of East Fairview Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Nancy Greenwell; two children, Sarah Greenwell and Aaron Bailey; three grandchildren, Katelin Teague, James Bailey and Emily Bailey; four sisters and five brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for William Howard Greenwell will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Trivette officiating. Interment will follow in the Deloach Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Aaron Bailey, Matthew Guy, Randy Wilson, Dewey Cornett, Mark Greenwell, Lynn Greenwell, Randy Lewis and Blaine Hyder. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Johnson City Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Byrne of Vanderbilt University Hospital and the nursing staff of Johnson City Medical Center.
