Wanda Marie Bristol, 84, of Elizabethton, Tenn., started her heavenly family reunion on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Frank Maples Sr. and Gracie Mayes Maples.
Wanda was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Wanda selflessly spent her life caring for her family and others. She was always stylish and well put-together and was a voracious reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Bristol Sr.; an infant daughter, Debbie Bristol; brothers, Frank Maples Jr., Ted Maples, Cecil Maples and Paul Maples, and an infant brother, George Maples; and a sister, Jenny Wiberg.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, William E. Bristol Jr. and wife Mary of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Audra Huffmaster and husband Denzil of Georgia and Aaron Bristol and wife Brittany of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, Leigh Marie Huffmaster of Georgia, Spane Bristol, Ainsley Bristol, Arlo Bristol and Lennon Bristol, all of Tennessee; special nieces, Rena Kirkman of Utah and Sherry Maples of New York; and a special nephew, Richard Maples of Tennessee. Several special friends also survive.
