Joyce Carver Odom, 80, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was born November 17, 1937 in Adrian, Mich., and was a daughter of the late Earl and Nan Woodby Carver. She had lived most of her life in Carter County.
Mrs. Odom was a homemaker and loved to work in her garden. She was a member of Sims Hill Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Odom; a daughter, Lisa Odom Templeton; and a brother, Cecil Carver.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shirley Odom, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Bailey Templeton, Chasity Wetzel and Jeremy Odom; her twin sister, June Pearce and husband Richard, Elizabethton; her brothers, Les Carver and wife Pat, Johnson City, and Leonard Carver and wife Ginger, Bluff City; several nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Reba Whitehead and husband Jimmy.
The graveside service for Mrs. Odom will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, in the Highland Cemetery with her nephew, Pastor James Henson, officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Friends may register their presence Friday until 5 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
