Robert L. “Bob” White

Robert L. “Bob” White, 78, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Bob was born in Carter County to the late Willard and Wilma Lewis White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbi Rena White Tittle.
Bob was a loving husband and father. He was an active member of Doe River Baptist Church, where he founded the Christian Life Center. Bob retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 32 years of service. Upon his retirement he owned and operated his own tax practice, Robert L. White and Associates, for 20 years. He was a member of the Carter County Humane Society, where he served as treasurer for over 25 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing and watching UT sports.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 40 years, Penny Tester White, of the home; daughter, Candice Lynn Sieiro and husband Anthony of Columbia, S.C.; son, Michael Ott White of Nashville, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Walt Tittle III and wife Brooke of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Lindsay Franks and husband Taylor, also of Jonesborough, Tenn.; one great-grandson, Walt Tittle IV; brother, Max White and wife Brenda of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and sister, Susan Townsend of Tampa, Fla. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Robert L. “Bob” White will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, August 17, at Doe River Baptist Church of Elizabethton with Rev. Daniel Fink and Rev. Jim Hawk officiating. Music will be provided by Charlotte Crumley. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18, in the Lakeview Cemetery in Butler, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be the men of Doe River Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Whitt, Jerry Wheeler, Larry Finney, Carl Vogel, Alec Vogel, Teddy Sims, Rick Largent, Russ Becker and his golfing buddies. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Doe River Baptist Church/Christian Life Center, 113 Avon Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or to the Carter County Humane Society, P.O.
