Following one of the best seasons in Elizabethton High School baseball history, former Cyclone Logan Estep recently put himself on course to continue his career at the collegiate level.

Estep signed his name with Milligan College where he will compete for the Buffaloes in baseball.

“It is a great opportunity, “said Estep. “It is something that you dream about as a kid and to get the chance is great.”

This past season, the Cyclones baseball club made a deep run into the Class AA State Baseball Tournament. Elizabethton finished in the top four after winning both the district and region titles.

“It meant a lot, especially as a senior,” said Estep. “We were able to set the standard for the kids coming up.”

Estep, who played in right field and filled in at the designated hitter role, finished 2018 with a .357 batting average as he collected 31 RBIs on the season.

“He is a super dynamic player and a super all-around kid,” said Presnell. “We are very proud of all of the adjustments he has made over the years to make himself a college level player. He is a very hard working player and put in a lot of  work to get himself to where he is at.”

In 2018, the Buffaloes went 19-31 overall and 11-16 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Milligan head baseball coach Nathan Meade recently resigned his post as head coach, and the Buffaloes are in the process of bringing on a new head coach.

“I am just going in with an open mindset,” said Estep. “Whatever the new coach wants me to do, I’ll work my hardest to do it.”
