Borderview
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will host its 29th Annual God and Country Day Sunday, July 1.
The morning worship at 10:45 a.m. will feature veteran recognition and an adult choir musical, “Stars and Strips Forever.” A community block party is planned for the afternoon, which begins with inflatables for the kids at 5 p.m., followed by a free barbeque, chicken, or hotdog supper at 6 p.m. Dessert will be ice cream sundaes at 7 p.m. and a gospel concert by Greater Glory at 7:30 p.m.
The evening concludes with fireworks at dusk. All visitors and guests can register for door prizes to be drawn during the evening.

First Presbyterian
The Rev. David Prentice-Hyers will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at First Presbyterian Church, 119 W. F St.
An education hour for all ages will be held at 9:45 a.m.
Others opportunities of the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The group is presently reading Listening for the Heartbeat of God: A Celtic Spirituality by J. Philip Newell.
Yoga is Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
The pastor is Dr. Brian Wyatt.

First Christian
Sunday is Friendly Fund Sunday at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. Donations will be collected for families in their time of bereavement.
The morning service will begin at 9:45 a.m. with minister, Michael Klaus, preaching. The communion meditation will be given by Steve Pearson. Alexis Bier will read the scripture and Melanie Klaus will present special music.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
The church family will celebrate the Fourth of July with a picnic at noon.
The 6 p.m. service will feature a testimonial service by Recovery Soldiers. Classes for children and youth will meet as regularly scheduled.
The Tuesday morning prayer group will meet at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary with John Smith as leader.
Church offices will be closed Wednesday in observance of the Fourth of July. There will be no services Wednesday evening.
Ladies Circles will meet Thursday.

First United Methodist
The message “Christians Are Dependently Free” based on John 8: 31-38 will be presented by the pastor, the Rev. Raymond W. Amos, Sr., at morning worship Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton.
The church is located at 325 E. E St.
Sunday School will follow at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. The Senior High Student Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. The Coolagers will meet only once a month during the summer months.
There will be no Wednesday evening service July 4.
