Murfreesboro Bound: Lady Rangers, Cyclones headed to state tournaments

The Unaka Lady Rangers received a special sendoff celebration from the Stoney Creek community. Pictured, a handful of players pose with Ms. Nellie Lewis. Lewis recently turned 90 years old and attended the celebration to send off her great granddaughter Corie Shuettler and and the rest of the team. The Lady Rangers were also escorted out of the school by the Unaka band.

Members of the Unaka High School Lady Rangers Softball Team and the Elizabethton High School Cyclones Men’s Baseball Team both departed Elizabethton on Monday headed to Murfreesboro where the teams will compete in their respective state tournaments.
The Cyclones will take on Stewart County in their first round game Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Rangers will take on Gibson County in their first round game Tuesday afternoon.
