Residents should be ready for a variety of music for this year’s concert series offered by the City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department.
The department recently announced the lineup for this year’s Covered Bridge Jams with the Thursday Night Boys kicking things off on Saturday, June 2. According to Recreation Manager David Nanney, the series is expected to last until Aug. 25.
“We look forward to another successful season of music and entertainment,” Nanney said. “We are extremely excited about this year’s concert series and hope that citizens in the community, and those in our surrounding areas, will come out and enjoy some great music in a beautiful park setting. Covered Bridge Jams is a special event that showcases local musicians and the beauty of our historic park and downtown Elizabethton.”
For its fourth installment, the concert series — held at Covered Bridge Park — features a variety of music ranging from country, bluegrass, blues, rock, and gospel each Saturday night from 7 to 9 p.m.
The lineup for this year’s installment includes:

• June 23 – Stem Winder
• June 30 – Jeff Sharpe & Chris Mathis and the All Star Band
• July 7 – SHAKE yo MoneyMaker Band

• July 21 – Hunter First Baptist Praise Band
• July 28 – Bullseye Band
• August 4 – Monk & Malone
• August 11 – Downtown Country

According to Nanney, the purpose of the series is to offer some entertainment to the region during the warmer months and showcase some of the different activities the department can offer.
“We are thrilled about our fourth season of Covered Bridge Jams and hope that families will come out and enjoy the music and atmosphere,” Nanney said.
