Clifford Street

Clifford Street, 89, of Johnson City, went to meet his Savior, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his home. He was a son of the late Carter Street and Dessie Aldridge Cantrell and was born in Buladean, N.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Street.
Mr. Street was a member of Milligan Freewill Baptist Church where he had served the church as a deacon and former treasurer. He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He was retired from Raytheon.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 71 years, June Hoss Street, of the home; a son, Stephen M. Street and his wife, Elizabeth, of Elizabethton; and two grandsons, Lake Street and Kaden Street, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Clifford Street will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 8, at Milligan Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Street officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. The committal and entombment service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Mausoleum of Peace. Active pallbearers will be James Oxendine, Arnold Hooks, Lake Street, Kaden Street, Rick Stoughton, Larry Danner, D.H. Byrd and Tim Street. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors and members of Milligan Freewill Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain States Hospice for the care and support shown to Mr. Street and the family during his illness.
