One local rehabilitation facility was recently recognized for their work on a national level.
Life Care Center of Elizabethton, located right off Highway 19E, was named a 2017-18 U.S. News & World Report “Best Nursing Home,” one of only 2,000 facilities across the country to receive the “Best” honor, achieving top status among more than 15,000 facilities nationwide.
According to information provided by the outlet, U.S. News & World Report rates centers using data provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services covering health inspections, nurse staffing and quality of care.
Angi Bradnan, executive director of the nursing and rehab center, said the accomplishment was made possible due to the staff’s drive to achieve a common goal.
“We were able to achieve the ranking because the whole building works together to reach a common goal, to provide excellent patient care,” Bradnan said. “We try really hard to not only treat people’s illnesses, but to help feed souls with love and support. Sometimes love and encouragement is the best medicine a person can have. We are really proud to see all the hard work and dedication recognized in this way.”
To go along with the recent nod, the facility is also ranked five out of five stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
One of the projects the facility has provided to the community included a wedding for a resident that utilized the resources available from Bradnan and her staff.
Since the 1930s, U.S. News & World Report has served as a multi-platform publisher of news and information, including www.usnews.com and annual print and e-editions of its rankings of best colleges, best graduate schools and best hospitals. According to information provided by U.S. News, in 2012 the outlet launched a conference division focusing on “important conversations and solutions” in STEM education and “Healthcare of Tomorrow.”
