Maude Parker Sparks Forbes

Maude Parker Sparks Forbes, 90, of Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2017. She was a native of Mitchell County, N.C., and a daughter of the late Fornum and Julie Canipe Parker.
Mrs. Forbes was retired from the Carter County School System where she was a cook. She was a member of Burbank Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Hoilman, and four brothers, Sam, Jake, Claude and Jeter Parker.
Survivors include her son, Milton “Buddy” Sparks, and wife Ruthann, of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; a nephew, Sammy Parker; a niece, Pat Parker; grandchildren, Lukas Sparks and Christian Jones; and great-grandchildren, Dillon, Abriella, Brooklynn, Tanner and Brody.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 23, at Burbank Freewill Baptist Church with Randy English and Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the Bailey Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to her church family at Burbank Freewill Baptist Church, Jim and Glenda Gouge, Wade and Christine Odom and Robert Hughes.
