Slow start dooms Cyclones at Dobyns-Bennett

The Indians came out hot Tuesday night as they rallied past the Elizabethton Cyclones 73-44 inside Dobyns-Bennett.
Dobyns-Bennett’s Riamello Wadsworth led the Indians with 11 points on the night while teammate Garrett Sherer followed up with 9 points.
For Elizabethton, both Parker Hughes and Eric Wilson led the Cyclones with 11 points each.
The Cyclones will be back on the floor this Friday as they head over to Happy Valley for a Three Rivers Conference matchup.
D-B rolled to a quick 18-0 lead in the first quarter before holding an 18-3 edge after one as a 3-pointer from EHS’ Nico Ashley finally broke the Indians’ run. Indians Marae Forman and Abiah Releford each had 5 points in the first period while teammate Riamello Wadsworth posted 4.
The Cyclones fared better in the second quarter as they posted 17 points with Elizabethton’s Parker Hughes posting 8 points in the period. Hughes teammate Adam Cornett chipped in with 5 points in the quarter. The Indians had 21 points in the second quarter before taking a 39-20 lead into the half. D-B’s Brody Potter had 5 points for the Indians in the second quarter while his teammates Garrett Sherer, Charlie Browder, and Hayden Cassell all had 4 points.
Elizabethton was able to outpace D-B 14-12 in the third as Wilson connected for 6 points in the period. The Indians, however, came alive again in the fourth to outscore EHS 22-10.
