Smith Nidiffer

Smith Nidiffer, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Fusson L. and Anna Lee Adams Nidiffer.
Mr. Nidiffer was a graduate of Unaka High School and attended East Tennessee State College. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Smith was a retired Inventory Clerk with T.V.A. He was a Mason and Shriner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his son, Jessie Smith Nidiffer II and wife Carol; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Smith Nidiffer will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, December 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Todd Wolfe, minister, officiating. The entombment service will be conducted at noon Saturday, December 2, in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be his buddies at Hardeeā€™s Breakfast Club. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
