Danny Fillers

Danny Fillers, 73, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at his residence after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Andrew Fillers and Anna Lipps Fillers Buchanan.
Danny was a graduate of Unaka High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Danny was employed as an Environmental Technician after working at Sperry-UNIVAC for several years before his retirement. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his special friends and caregivers, Karen and Glenn Booher, Jeff Huskins, Amy Perry and Thelma Green, and several cousins.
Graveside services for Danny Fillers will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday, November 6, in the Ensor Cemetery with Gary Arnold and Dale Grindstaff officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Monday, will be Jeff Huskins, Terry Montgomery, Lynn Kyker, Glen Booher, Ed Spears and Willie Holtsclaw. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Martha, Nina, Thelma, Donna and Todd and the staff of Mountain States Hospice for all the care Danny received during his illness. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone will assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
