Signature HealthCARE highlights public with Hall of Fame

Giving back to the residents is the name of the game, according to Debbie Street.
The administrator and CEO of Signature HealthCARE of Elizabethton provided an outlet to highlights members of the community during the 2017 Signature Healthcare of Elizabethton hosts Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Signature staff, family of inductees and Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford were all on hand to show respect to the inductees.
“We stand to learn so much from the lives our residents, and we would be remiss not to share these stories with as many people as possible,” Street said. “We’re proud to celebrate the accomplishments of these residents, stakeholders and community servants. We feel blessed to be part of this great community.”
Honorees from Thursday’s event includes:
• Resident Edith Smalling for contribution of leadership and personal accomplishments.
• Resident Howard Julian for his contribution for distinguished military serve.
• Stakeholder Jenelle Hardin, LPN, for her years of service and dedication.
• Stakeholder Sarah Blevins, who serves as a dietary cook, for her years of service and dedication.
• Union Hill Freewill Baptist Ladies Auxiliary for their community involvement.
Throughout the night, attendees were greeted with different stories of each individuals. Julian was unable to attend the ceremony but was recognized for his efforts and bravery for his military service.
Street added potential Hall of Fame members go through selected process of committee members.
“We would love to induct everyone if we could,” Street said as she eyed the “Wall of Fame”, which is almost full with previous inductees.
Along with a meal provided by Signature staff, attendees were greeted to singing by Riley Whitson, who was joined by John Whitson on guitar.
At the conclusion of the event, Street thanked everyone in attendance for their support. The administrator also commended the work of the staff, which recently learned they were deficiency after an evaluation by the state.
Signature HealthCARE’s Elizabethton facility is one of 123 locations operated by company, based out of Louisville, Kentucky.
The Hall of Fame event is hosted by each Signature facility on the same day.
