Lisa Lipford Pilkington

Mrs. Lisa Lipford Pilkington, 59, of Erwin, TN unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Mrs. Pilkington was born in Elizabethton, TN on April 13, 1958 but, she had lived most of her adult life in Erwin, TN in the Coffee Ridge Community.
Lisa was a 1976 graduate of Elizabethton High School where she was a majorette in the high school band. Lisa continued her educational career at East Tennessee State University where she received a BS Degree in Communicative Disorders. While a student at ETSU she was a sister of the Delta Zeta sorority. After graduation she worked at the Johnson City Medical Center for many years until she had to retire due to disability. She served on the Heritage Museum board with her husband and was a Cash Family Pottery Collectors Club board member. She also loved to collect miniature shoes. Lisa will be remembered by the many lives she touched with her special smile and big heart. In her free time Lisa and her husband John, loved antique shopping, spending time with friends and family, and taking care of their many cats.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents (Jimmy and Patsy Lipford), her father in law (James Pilkington), and her aunts (Pamela Broome and Dr. Jesse Shields Strickland).
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, (Johnny Pilkington), her sister Stephanie Nave (Kenneth), mother in law, Marian Pilkington, two sisters in laws, Robin Pilkington and Theresa Herrick, her aunt Sonya Alexander (Edwin). Survivors also include her nieces and nephews Matthew Nave, Conner Alysia Nave, Amber Hudson, Rob Herrick, Caleb Herrick, Andrew Herrick, Sherri Renne Burns, Sarah Loos, Stephanie Herrick and Katherin Tesch; and 22 great nieces and nephew. Survivors also include many special friends, one in particular, Judy Dill and one special uncle, Rick LaRue.
A visitation period will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton; or at the residence of her sister, Stephanie Nave, at other times.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Pilkington will be conducted at 7:00 PM, following the visitation on Monday. Rev. Nathan Jennings, Rev. Jack Lloyd and Rev. Allison Burnett will officiate and music will be provided by Billie Fox.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Monte Vista Memorial Park, Johnson City, Tennessee. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Nave, Matthew Nave, Kolby Evans, Robin Pilkington, Steve Pilkington, and Rick LaRue. Honorary pallbearers will be Allison Burnett, Gary Dill, David Lynch, and Rob Herrick. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Tuesday.
