Saturday, Oct. 14

Noon – 3 p.m. — Autumn Harvest 2017 — Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage at Roan Mountain and celebrate autumn at the park’s annual harvest festival with traditional crafts, food and entertainment. At the historic Miller Farmstead inside Roan Mountain State Park. In the event of rain the festival will be relocated to the Park’s Visitor’s Center.

6 – 9 p.m. — Halloween In The Campground 2017 — Join us at Roan Mountain State Park for the 10th year of this annual family-friendly event.  Campers compete for prizes for best decorated campsite and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.  Hayrides through the haunted forest will take place until 8:30 p.m. Visitors may roast hot dogs over the bonfire, with free hot dogs provided for the first 1,000 people beginning at 6 p.m.  Drinks and other concessions will be available for purchase. NEW THIS YEAR: ENTRY FEE OF $5.00 PER VEHICLE. Visitors can expect to pay $5.00 per vehicle to park in dedicated parking areas, set up similar to the Rhododendron Festival. Carpooling is encouraged! We at Roan Mountain State Park are dedicated to providing safe and quality events for the community, and our number one priority is the SAFETY of all of our visitors.  Thank you for your cooperation in assisting with the safe flow of traffic in and out of this event.

Saturday, Nov. 4

11 a.m. — Roan Mountain 10K — Compete with runners from across the state as part of the Tennessee Running Tour. This certified 6.2 mile course is an all road (no trail!) race starting at 11 a.m. from the Campground. Day-of-race registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Picnic Shelter 3 in the Roan Mountain State Park Campground. Runners take off from the Start Line at 11 a.m. $22 pre-registration fee with T-shirt, $10 pre-registration without T-shirt. Pre-registration closes Thursday, Oct. 26. Saturday, Nov. 11

1 p.m. – 3 p.m. — Old Time Yule — Roan Mountain State Park ends the year’s events with an old-fashioned holiday celebration at the Miller Farmstead. Step back in time and experience how Christmas was celebrated years ago with traditional music and tasty treats.

Monday, Nov. 20

6 p.m. – 7 p.m. — Roan Mountain Community Christmas Tree Lighting — Come help celebrate this wonderful time of year with a community Christmas tree lighting. We will have live entertainment by Cloudland Elementary and Cloudland High School. Light refreshments will be provided while we await the arrival of Santa. A special community guest will flip the switch and the Roan Mountain Community will be aglow with Christmas spirit for the upcoming holiday season. Come out and enjoy an evening of community fellowship and excitement.
